Innovative Methods of Neurorehabilitation

Mission of the DFG German-Polish Network   “Innovative Procedures in Neurorehabilitation”.

The common theme of the scientific topic is to understand and manipulate mechanisms of recovery that are independent of the modalities (language, vision, cognition). This includes issues of diagnostics and therapeutical effects. This entailes the processing of time and synchronisation of brain activity. The goal is to improve brain activation which would eventually benefit different clinical conditions in different functional domains (speech, audition, vision…).

It is recognized that such an effort can only be successful if it is approached by different disciplines (neurology, neuropsychology, imaging, computer science, electrophysiology etc.). The international cooperation will allow for exchange of ideas and know-how, personal exchange and communication, with the goal to identify and initiate common projects.

The network will be a platform to find new opportunities of international funding schemes with the eventual goal to develop new technical solutions to translate basic sciences to solutions that would be acceptable on the market. The common project aims at improving scientific quality, publication output in peer-reviewed journals and developing new therapeutic methods (tools).
